These are a few of our favorite things....
The first thing we love are sleep sacks. These make life so much easier! Lily HATED being swaddled. She got out into the world and realized that she could move her arms around. That was the end of any desire to be confined. Based on this we decided to use sleep sacks. They keep the baby warm without a blanket. Lily loves them. Mommy loves them. It's really a win-win.
Next up- the Beaba BabyCook. I am making all of Lily's pureed food. It's kind of an obsession. I know that sounds weird, but it is oddly fun.I love the BabyCook because it excessively easy to use. You steam and puree in the same container. Love it.
The stroller. I researched, and researched, and researched. I finally settled on the Britax B-Nimble in the ever versatile cow print. We actually chose the car seat first, and then the stroller followed. Tom likes the print because it reminds him of his grandparents' dairy cows. The stroller is light, and easy to maneuver, and super easy to fold and carry. It is easy like an umbrella stroller, but accommodated the car seat like a travel system. It.is.great.
Yep, the pump. It's a Medela PISA tote. I really wanted to be able to breastfeed Lily. I knew going back to work would require a lot of pumping, so I wanted a good pump. The Medela pump has been amazing. The bag carries pump parts, school keys, extra bags, everything. It is easy to use, quick, and overall awesome. It has allowed me to pump for 8+ months.
The Fisher Price Jumper. Lily is addicted to jumping. It is her favorite activity. We use it for maybe 15 minutes a day, but it gives us just enough time to get a few things done around the house. The girl goes crazy in the thing. Laughs, babbles, and plays with all of her toys. She loves it.
The Fisher Price Snug-A-Bunny swing was a lifesaver when Lily was a teeny newborn. She loved to swing and snooze. The thing would calm her down almost immediately. She is too big for the swing now, but while it lasted, it was a great. It looked so comfortable I wanted to sleep in it.
Finally, the Boppy. Great for nursing, tummy time, propping, learning to sit. Also great for the dog to curl up in, well, he thinks so anyway.
There are probably a million products I am forgetting about and will add later. I would recommend all of these products to any new mommy!
