Jackson is here!

He arrived 2/23/13 at 8:49pm, weighing in at 10 pounds 3 ounces, 22 inches long. I will write his birth story later...for now a few pictures of my little man and his big sister:

Welcome Jackson!
For just pushing out a ten pound baby, I think I look pretty good.

The three of us! Ok, looking a little rough here.
Picture verification of the weight.

My little man.

Going home!!

Meeting big sister.

Notice, big sister already has his paci. She loves the paci...so it's Jack's gift to her.

The shirt is a good reminder that she is, indeed, the big sister.

Once we get settled in and everything is a little more...normal...I will add a few more pictures and update the fast, easy labor I had with this little guy. I am SO happy to be home (and am looking forward to a lovely 12 weeks off). It probably won't quite be a vacation, but it will be great being home with me babies!

Overdue

I believe this is the point in my pregnancy with Lily that I started blogging. I am 2 days overdue, so no biggie, I was 3 days overdue with Lily when I had her (this isn't uncharted territory). I had my 40 week appointment yesterday. My blood pressure is fine (I thought the nurse said 100/60, so it's almost low (I guess I am that relaxed!), my weight is normal for this point in the pregnancy, Jack's heart rate was in the 140s (which is where it's been the whole pregnancy), and every else looks fine. I have made no progress since my last appointment (shocking...really...not shocking), so we have Plan A and Plan B. Plan A is still go into labor on my own (oh please! oh please! oh please!) and Plan B is an induction (no, no, no!).

So as far as this week upcoming looks (provided I have no baby by Tuesday)...Tuesday I have an ultrasound at 9 am to see how big this baby is looking (Dr. B thinks he is about 9 pounds), then Thursday I have my 41 week appt. to see how things are looking and to schedule an induction, and then Friday (morning, I assume) I would be induced. Ultimately, I will have a baby in the next week, so I am good with that. If I am induced next Friday, Jack will be a March baby, which would add to the calendar for our family in March (our family is all over March- my dad, Tom's dad, my birthday, Tom's birthday, Mandy's birthday, Sam's birthday, and the list goes on and on...). I am hoping Jack decides to be born this month because Timothy needs someone to share his birth month with!

As for my Lily...I have a bunch of pictures to put on here...so this is what Lily has been up to for the past month:

We colored in a box from Ikea.

We cheesed for the camera.

We colored some Winnie the Pooh pictures with intensity.

We got new baby stuff to match mommy and daddy's baby stuff for Jack.

We looked out the windows for airplanes (and daddy!).

We finally found a big enough chair to sit in.

We did "ready, set, go!" with the baby doll in the swing (watch out Jack!).

We posed with mama and Jack after his due date.

We found some nice mittens in the form of socks.

We shook our booty in skinny jeans (way cooler than mama).

We drank out of a big girl cup at The Burger Joint (and said "hi" to Topper!).

We finally found the hat that matches everything!

20 Months!

At 20 Months Lily Loves...

1. ...playing with "caulk" (chalk) on her new chalkboard.
2. ...her babies (she has at least 5 dolls).
3. ...riding her tricycle in the house.
4. ...Lazytown (ugh...).
5. ...giving her brother, Jack, kisses, hugs, and raspberries (which means mommy gets them soon...c'mon Jack...let's get this show on the road!).
6. ...reading books in her crib.
7. ...beef barley soup (my mom discovered this at lunch one day).
8. ...sitting in mama and dada's bed and looking out the window for "aih-panes" (airplanes).
9. ...walking up the steps (with a lot of help).
10. ...and, of course, mama and dada!

And...for those keeping score...Lily is 20 months on the 20th and I am 40 weeks on the 20th...and Jack is stubborn on the 20th. C'mon little boy, come meet us!!

39 weeks!

This past Wednesday marked my 39th week of pregnancy! It seems crazy, but I have 4 days remaining until the due date (2/20). I am excited and, of course, anxious...and even a little nervous. I am hoping for an "easy" delivery like Lily's, though in maybe a little less time. Everything was looking good at the 39 week appt. I won't have my 40 week appt. until Thursday, if I make it that far.

In other news, Friday was my last day of work. This past week was a bit stressful because the original long term sub I had backed out on Monday due to family obligations. YIKES! I talked with Becky (my dept. chair) and she gave me a few more names, and luckily, I found another long term by Wednesday. She has all my plans and the books the students will be reading, so I was able to feel confident about things as I left school on Friday. I am looking forward to some rest before Jack gets here. It will be nice to sleep, relax, and enjoy my time with Tom and Lily before the newest arrival comes home.

Lily is doing very well. She is always so happy (ok, not always, but her cranky moments are few and far between!). She is loving coloring and likes her new chalkboard. She surprised me the other day by saying "A,B,C"...I thought she only knew "A" (shows you what I know!). She is becoming more and more verbal and is saying so much more (especially when there is no paci in her mouth...). She is enjoying running around and wearing everyone out. I am a little nervous about the transition to big sisterhood, but I think it will go smoothly.

I definitely have a lot of pictures to upload. My computer decided to die, so I just got a new one. I need to add some of the pictures of Lily that I have on my camera. That will happen soon, but, for now, goodnight! This mama is tired!

38 Weeks!

My computer is having issues, so I am using Tom's computer this evening. I will, hopefully, upload some pictures once mine is up and running. In the meantime, I am 38 weeks! Woo! Only 2 to go (as of yesterday, less than 2 as of today!).

At today's appointment I found out...
1. Still dilated the same
2. BP is fine, if not low, 102/80
3. Baby's heart rate sounds good
4. Dr. thinks that the baby should weight around Lily's birth weight (8 lbs. 10 oz.). She said my belly is definitely all baby.
5. It is looking like I will be having the baby closer to my due date (of course, this is all guessing...I could really go whenever)

The bottom line is we are both looking healthy, so things are moving right along!

My friends Becky and Sarah threw me and Kara a "sprinkle" at work on Tuesday. Kara and I are due within 2 weeks of one another (sound familiar? our toddlers were also born within two weeks!), so we had a joint party. It was so thoughtful for our friends to shower us. We had yummy food (cupcakes!) and we got some cute baby boy stuff (Kara is expecting her second boy). I am excited to get to make a new wardrobe of boy things; it will be much different than all of the pink and purple I have for Lily!

Lily is doing very well. She is talking a lot, loves to color, and is generally a funny, happy girl. I am excited that I get 12 weeks to be at home with her! It is adorable to see her standing at the door when we get home from work. She claps her hands, presses her face against the door, and smiles a big old grin. I love that little Bean!

That's all for now. Work is work. This week has been l-o-n-g. I am looking forward to the weekend and my last official week of work before I go on maternity leave!
